Building upon many years of privately shared thoughts on the real benefits of Stoic Philosophy, Liam Milburn eventually published a selection of Stoic passages that had helped him to live well. They were accompanied by some of his own personal reflections. This blog hopes to continue his mission of encouraging the wisdom of Stoicism in the exercise of everyday life. All the reflections are taken from his notes, from late 1992 to early 2017.

Stoic Conversations 11
"I think I'd like to call myself a Thomist."
"Oh no, don't do that. By all means, read St. Thomas Aquinas from dawn until dusk if you like, and have his brilliant writing inspire you to the deepest truth, and let your soul be profoundly moved by his wisdom and piety. Learn especially from his willingness to find what is shared in common from many different perspectives. But don't call yourself a Thomist."
"Why ever not?"
"Have you ever met those people?"
