Building upon many years of privately shared thoughts on the real benefits of Stoic Philosophy, Liam Milburn eventually published a selection of Stoic passages that had helped him to live well. They were accompanied by some of his own personal reflections. This blog hopes to continue his mission of encouraging the wisdom of Stoicism in the exercise of everyday life. All the reflections are taken from his notes, from late 1992 to early 2017.

Stoic Snippets 28
If our intellectual part is common, the reason also, in respect of which we are rational beings, is common.
If this is so, common also is the reason that commands us what to do, and what not to do.
If this is so, there is a common law also.
If this is so, we are fellow citizens.
If this is so, we are members of some political community.
If this is so, the world is in a manner a state.
—Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 4.4
