Building upon many years of privately shared thoughts on the real benefits of Stoic Philosophy, Liam Milburn eventually published a selection of Stoic passages that had helped him to live well. They were accompanied by some of his own personal reflections. This blog hopes to continue his mission of encouraging the wisdom of Stoicism in the exercise of everyday life. Diogenes for the Day, 9/11/2018
The Athenians urged him to become initiated in the religious mystery rites, and told him that in the other world those who have been initiated enjoy a special privilege.
"It would be ludicrous," Diogenes said, "if Agesilaus and Epaminondas are to dwell in the mire, while certain folk of no account will live in the Isles of the Blessed because they have been initiated."
