Building upon many years of privately shared thoughts on the real benefits of Stoic Philosophy, Liam Milburn eventually published a selection of Stoic passages that had helped him to live well. They were accompanied by some of his own personal reflections. This blog hopes to continue his mission of encouraging the wisdom of Stoicism in the exercise of everyday life. Diogenes for the Day, 8/11/2018
One day, observing a child drinking out of his hands, Diogenes cast away the cup from his wallet with the words, "A child has beaten me in simplicity of living."
He also threw away his bowl when, in like manner, he saw a child who had broken his plate taking up his lentils with the hollow part of a morsel of bread.
