Building upon many years of privately shared thoughts on the real benefits of Stoic Philosophy, Liam Milburn eventually published a selection of Stoic passages that had helped him to live well. They were accompanied by some of his own personal reflections. This blog hopes to continue his mission of encouraging the wisdom of Stoicism in the exercise of everyday life. In yesterday's (December 6, 2019) Daily Stoic reading (Halliday) we are reminded that each of us lives under the sword of Damocles and that by accepting death and ordering each day around death's imminence, we live lives that are present, contented, and in line with nature. It's certainly up to us in how we orient our attitudes and behavior; in pursuit of alignment of soul and nature? Or imbued with what we have no control over.
