The Feast of St. Michael

Names mean things.

Michael is my middle name, and my father's first name. The name was chosen because it reflected a history, not because it "sounded cool."

A Jesuit once told me: "When parents name their children after gimmicks instead of saints, you know which way the wind is blowing."

Michael? The archangel who defends us all?

Nah. How about Byron, or Bryon, or maybe even Brydon? Which sounds the sexiest?

September 29 is the Feast Day of Saint Michael the Archangel.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
