The snake is very venomous. It bites when anyone approaches to catch it. But the person who has learned the snake charm can not only catch a snake, but carries about several of them like so many ornaments.
Similarly, he who has acquired spiritual knowledge can never be polluted by lust and greed.
I can't help but think it's still awfully dangerous to play with snakes.
