Diogenes for the Day, 7/18/2018


All the curses of tragedy, he used to say, had lighted upon him. At all events he was "A homeless exile, to his country dead. A wanderer who begs his daily bread." 

But he claimed that to fortune he could oppose courage, to convention nature, to passion reason.
